Crisis

Another (less fortunate) side effect of having the apartment to myself:

its a disaster area.




Today I pitted 2lbs of cherries for the cherry pie I'm making tomorrow. (Sidenote: pie dough with the KA is the BEST) I spilled cherry juice all over my coffee table. I have not cleaned it. I brought books back from AZ - they are all over the place. Records? Everywhere and not put away. Dishes? Haven't done them in dayyyyyyyyyyyys. The ones I have done have not been put away. Neither the trash nor recycling have been taken out. Boxes and assorted packaging from my new toys are scattered about. Cookbooks are in rooms they don't belong. Laundry I did on Sunday is still in the dryer, and is probably so wrinkled that the only thing to do is rewash. In my kitchen there are 3 cabinets I haven't bothered to close.

I'm disgusting.

Home Alone

Boyfriend is out of town for the next week and a half. I would be lonely, except my record player and I have been reunited. Which means tonight (and until D is home) I have the company of my favorite short Jewish man (don't tell).

I really love Jonny Depp. Every role he plays is brilliant - could anyone else have played Jack Sparrow so well? I know a lot of people find him to be hot stuff, but I've never really seen it. That is, until I saw this sign:

I don't know what it is about this picture but oh-em-gee it makes me want to put on a dress and pearls and run off and marry the man. Its on about 7 billboards along my route home from work and it makes my 45 minutes in the car go by so much more happily.
